Chairman of HITSP ECO committee working group on internal communications

I serve as the Chair of the HITSP ECO Committee Working Group on Internal Communications. Our portfolio is to identify the resources, processes, and gaps in the internal communication for HITSP (Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel) members. The goal is to formalize, facilitate, and coordinate communications to improve HITSP workflow. HITSP attempts to harmonize the various standards that apply to healthcare with the needs of healthcare stakeholders that are indentified in ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Heathcare Information Technology) and AHIC (American Health Information Community) use cases. As the use cases become increasingly complex, so to does the need for collaborations across individual HITSP Technical Committees. Only a well-defined internal communications plan can achieve this.
